School Philosophy and Aims

School aims:

In general, the school aims:

  • to promote the intellectual, physical, social, personal, spiritual and moral development of all its pupils.
  • to create the best possible learning environment
  • to equip the pupils to avail of further education
  • to enable children to think clearly and act independently
  • to enable children to live full and useful lives as adults in society

The school will nurture a sense of personal identity, self-esteem and awareness of one’s particular abilities, combined with a respect for the rights and beliefs of others.

We will try at all times to promote physical and emotional health and well-being

We aim to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes.

We hope to create tolerant, caring and politically aware members of society, with an appreciation of their heritage and an awareness of the need for caring for their environment.

School Philosophy

Children will be inculcated with a respect for authority.  Mutual respect has always been and will be central to our philosophy.

Pupils will be imbued with the will to succeed, but not at any price.  Good Christian values will be our platform where every person is important and equal.

The uniqueness and importance of every human being is taken into consideration.

We accept the diversity among people.

Gender equality in all aspects of school life will be promoted.

The importance of co-operation will be fostered.

The importance of the place of the school in the community is stressed.
